About Me

My photo
I'm Fred. I arrived on the scene in 2002 in a paper bag. I was given as a birthday present. I live with "Him" and "Her". I spend a lot of time on my shelf above their bed thinking. We also spend quite a lot of our time on our Narrowboat "Jophina II" . My blog is about my thoughts and experiences.

They're back.

Well they are back. They got home at the weekend after having to spend an extra 5 days in Florida because of the volcanic ash disruption to flights. They didn't seem very pleased to see me but I expect they were tired. They brought me a new friend to sit on MY shelf. He's orange and stripy and answers to the name of Tigger.
They seem to have had a good time and have promised to give me some photographs to post here. More soon!

It was a bit of a hectic weekend catching up with what had been going on, L going back to Uni and everyone getting ready to get back to work/school.

Impending Homecoming and Wild Animals

I've heard today that they will soon be on their way back. I'd better get the shelf tidied up.

Today they went to a place called Busch Gardens. The owners of the place, a large brewing corpration, very kindly threw their doors open for people stranded by the flight cancellations and offered free admission. It was a nice gesture since normal admission is about £50 per person. They saw all manner of wild animals including Hippos, Rhino, Tigers (Bengal and Siberian) Elephants and Zebras. The latter is much to the excitement of the one who I share a shelf with; his stripes have positively bristled with excitement all day!

He and L rode lots of diferent roller coasters and water rides and had a thoroughly good time by all accounts.

Well done to the owners of Busch Gardens.

Volcanic Ash and an Alligator

I had further word from them today. They now say they don't know when they'll get back because of some volcanic ash or something and that they are staying where they are for now. From my shelf I haven't a clue what they are on about - looks like quite a nice day.

Perhaps more disturbingly they also tell me that siting by their pool ( yes pool! ) this afternoon they saw an alligator which was just at the side of the lake which the house they are staying in faces. Even for a bear that sounds a bit scary!

This is a rather poor picture of the creature - can't think why he didn't get closer!

The picture below is of L and C feeding dolphins at a place called Seaworld yesterday

He's got his arm 'round another bear!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry be insulted or spurned, but this latest photo shows him with his arm around another Bear! Mind you it's a funny looking bear.
It does however give a better clue as to where they are. Evidently He's been on roller coasters, water rides and all manner of other amusements. Each to their own..

Mange Takk and more news

Firstly "Mange Takk" for visiting my website; I see from my blog site statistics that someone from Sweden has visited recently. That and several visits from the USA suggest that I'm on the verge of going Global!

I've had more news from them today. Evidently they have been on a mountain of sorts and got a bit scared on a train thing when they saw a Yeti??? They also got very wet on white water rapids, and L screamed when she got "pooped on" by a big bird with digestive tract "issues"!!! They have also seen more animals today including Tigers but still no bears. I'm not sure what all this means or where they are. Perhaps you know? They also mentioned seeing two mice, a duck, an ape,two dogs, a fairy and a pair called Lilo and Stitch. This is all beyond me.

I'll keep you posted. In he meantime "Hej da" to my reader in Sweden.

Where are they?

A couple of days ago they all went out and left me. He told me that I was to be in charge and that he'd be in touch. Now, being in charge is a weighty responsibility but I am used to it and it is well within my capabilities. I sit on my shelf and survey what is going on and keep the other residents, principally a rather annoying Zebra, in order.

The "be in touch" bit is a bit new so I wasn't sure what to expect. Anyway, today the following picture arrived and to be honest I'm not sure what it means or where they are. It seems rather personal to me but I'm not sure whether to take it as a threat. I hope it isn't an omen.

Now dear reader ( or readers if there are more than one of you), where do you think they are. Not much of a clue is it? More when I know more! The only other clue I have is that yesterday they saw all manner of wild animals including elephants, gazelles, wildebeest etc etc but no bears.Mmmm?

April Fool - not me

I'm no fool. Nothing much gets past me so in the event nobody tried. Quite disappointing really. Unlike someone He knows who phoned her nephew to say there was an owl in the bedroom and the unsuspecting lad went round to sort it out!!

Anyway the eldest daughter has just now ( 9.50pm ) gone out on the town in Lincoln with her friends. Now I'm not a particularly old bear but just as I am thinking of going to bed they are going out. Transport home is booked at 3am but happily He is not involved.

They are looking after a friend's parrot for a few days. It is a noisy bird which talks quite a lot so there may not be much peace.

Easter now......chocolate! Mmmmmmm.
