About Me

My photo
I'm Fred. I arrived on the scene in 2002 in a paper bag. I was given as a birthday present. I live with "Him" and "Her". I spend a lot of time on my shelf above their bed thinking. We also spend quite a lot of our time on our Narrowboat "Jophina II" . My blog is about my thoughts and experiences.

A night afloat.

Last weekend was a bit hectic.
First of all He went to York to collect L from university. Five weeks holiday would you believe?

Then they both went off to their boat and took me with them! He was able to watch some of the rugby on TV before they both went out to a Dinner. She was in a posh frock and He in a black suit with a bow tie. What a laugh!!! Anyway they left me on the boat although they woke me when they got back at gone 1am!!! Stop outs!

Next day she went home and he stayed on the boat to go to a meeting at the Boat Club.

We went home after lunch.

A good couple of days.

Another boat trip

They went on their boat again today. Once again they didn't take me but I didn't mind too much as it was a bit rainy. They went to Retford and back which takes about four hours.

Logs, Logs and more Logs!

He spent most of the weekend in the garden making the most of the great weather. On Saturday morning a tractor and trailer full of logs arrived. He had to move them from the driveway onto pallets at the back of the garage to dry out. He says that they'll last us two years which is probably just as well if he is planning to run out of central heating oil again!!!

.....and They didn't take ME!

Yesterday They went to their boat for a few hours and they didn't take Me! I was a bit fed up but at least I stayed in the warm house.

They went for a short trip on the Chesterfield canal to a place called Drakeholes. This takes about an hour and a half from where they keep their boat moored. Being winter time with no leaves on the trees tends to provide a very different view of the countryside than in the summer. Here are some pictures.

These are of Old Man Bridge at Wiseton. So called because of the carving of an old mans face on the bridge.

These are taken at Drakeholes - note the Tunnel!

And this was taken on the way back
